Eshmoon is an Ancient Phoenician Deity, whose story is full of depth and meaning. The myth tells of a virile and proud young hunter from the city of Beryth (present-day Beirut), who decides to defy the natural law by hunting in the forbidden gardens of Ishtar, the mother goddess of the earth, symbol of fertility and love.
On one of his forbidden hunting expeditions, he encounters a wild boar more powerful than himself that slays him, spilling his blood into the holy river. Ishtar, who has loved Eshmoon dearly despite his defiance of the natural laws, decides to bring life back to his dead body.
He is then reborn as a demigod with divine, healing qualities. His new spirit respects the natural law, abides by its rules, and understands its deep, intimate secrets. His knowledge of nature enables him to become the first known doctor in history, using his deep understanding of nature to heal others.
